What is the Process?

Once you have contacted Home Connection Companions, our friendly staff will provide you with more information regarding our services. We will then set up a complimentary in-home visit to assess your needs further. During this visit, usually made within one to two days after your call, the nurse will note any medical issues and medications you may have so that our companions have a general idea of your unique needs.

The in-home visit will also be a time for you or your loved one to tell us about personal preferences, likes, dislikes and goals for the companion’s time. Would you like to have a small lunch prepared each visit? Is it necessary to water the plants in the house or let the dog out? Do you want to have the companion drive your loved one to appointments if possible? Having answers to questions like this will better allow us to provide the best in-home care to you or your loved one.

Our staff will also take notes on personality. Does the client like to talk a lot and have someone listen? Do they prefer to engage in quieter activities like reading a paper or book? After all this information is taken down, we will be able to pick the right companion to match your loved one’s personality. A comprehensive plan will then be formulated for the specific needs and desires of each individual. Once a contract is signed, we can have your first companion visit as soon as you are ready.
